Road Trip Across The Islands Of

Kos, Nisyros

Greece counts around 6,000 islands scattered across the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Today, we’ll visit two inhabited islands Kos and Nisyros that offer much more than only beaches and hotel resorts. There is an international airport on Kos but the latter island needs to be reached by boat from the port of Kardamena.

This beautiful small village is located in the mountains of central Kos. It’s a great place to shop around for Greek handmade souvenirs or to take a sip of a refreshing drink in one of the taverns. Great views of the shore will not let you leave easily.

The Old Pyli is an abandoned village situated on the steep slopes of Dikeos mountain with a Byzantine castle on the top. Walking uphill may be exhausting but it will reward you with nice views of the island and you can meet the only current inhabitants – goats.
