Spectacular Scenery Of The Alps In
The city is located on the shore of Lake Lucerne at the foot of Swiss Alps. Visitors are pleased with great views of medieval landmarks reflecting in the water and lovers of nature can admire Lucerne from the adjacent Mt. Pilatus. City walls and mountain peaks are only a few places to get the full picture of the city.
Information will be available soon
Walk The History
The Chapel Bridge dating back to the 14th century is the oldest covered footbridge in Europe. When walking over, raise your eyes towards the roof to admire dozens of painted frames showing important events from the history of Lucerne.
Lion Of Lucerne
The wounded lion commemorates the Swiss Guards killed during the French Revolution in 1792 and is one of the most iconic monuments in Switzerland. The rock is surrounded by a quiet pond and you can truly feel the powerful atmosphere of the place.
Colours And Relax
Most parts of the historic centre of Lucerne are a pedestrian zone so you can move around without being disturbed by traffic. Beautifully decorated houses play with colours and are home to numerous restaurants and shops selling local goods.
Above The City
Not only the mountain offers awesome views of Lucerne and the Swiss Alps, but you can also take a ride on the steepest cogwheel railway in the world. To see more beautiful photos from the top of its peaks, check out my Mount Pilatus post.
