Admire The Striking Architecture Of
Rotterdam
When visiting the Lucerne area in Central Switzerland, this mountain shouldn’t miss on your trip itinerary. You can get to the top by an aerial cableway or use the steepest cogwheel railway in the world to enjoy sweeping views of Lake Lucerne and surroundings. It’s a perfect day trip from Lucerne.
Basic Information
Mount Pilatus is located between the cantons of Obwalden and Nidwalden in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. It’s 2,132 metres high and belongs to the Emmental Alps. You can get to the cableway station by bus no. 1 from Lucerne to stop Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus. Then it’s around 5 minutes walking to the station. Another option is going by train or boat to Alpnachstad.

Cube Houses
One of the most iconic landmarks in the city can be found on Overblaak. The houses were designed in the 1970s by architect Piet Blom to provide high-density accommodation while maximizing public space. Three floors make up the living area in each cube. There is also a museum inside one of them that you can visit.
Colorful Art
Market Hall
Restaurants, food stands, or even luxury flats. That all can be found in Rotterdam’s glass market hall, just within a stone’s throw from the Cube Houses. I suggest walking with your head up inside the structure since the ceiling is decorated with stunning artwork depicting colorful flowers, fruits, and insects.
First Skyscraper
Old Harbour
The oldest port in the city packs historical ships and the first European skyscraper. The 43-meter-tall White House was built in the late 19th century and is a Dutch heritage site. Additionally, the nearby T. G. Masaryk monument commemorates the place where the idea of Czechoslovakia was first shared with the world.

Views from the top are extremely dependant on weather conditions. The peak often gets covered with clouds decreasing visibility to dozens of meters only. I recommend checking this live webcam.
